Employees want jobs with flexible work options

Employees want it all when it comes to work-life balance and are even willing to give up about 8 percent of their salary in order to get there, according to a study released Thursday, the Houston Business Journal reports.

The results come from the Mom Corps online survey of 1,096 working adults about their feelings regarding flexibility when it comes to personal life and work. Mom Corps is a national professional staffing that specializes in connecting talent with flexible, full-time or contract positions.

According to the results, 45 percent of those who responded would be willing to give up on average as much as 8.5 percent of their salary for more flexibility at work. Also, 52 percent of respondents said they would be interested in starting their own business to achieve a better work/life balance.
